1882 Night Sky
As a remote, mountaintop community, Mountain Lake Park was a perfect place for stargazers. Before electric lights cluttered total darkness, the stars above were a sight to behold. The night sky was recorded the year and month the first Mountain Chautauqua season was launched. This sky has been recreated on the ceiling of the Ticket Office Museum. Look up!
