Bird’s Eye View

A 1906 aerial view of Mountain Lake Park was illustrated by Thaddeus Mortimer Fowler, from Morrisville, PA. The map is remarkably detailed and quite accurate depicting architectural details specific to cottages and community buildings. Based in Pennsylvania, 248 of his 426 panoramic maps created in his career were illustrating cities in his home state. It is a testimony to Mountain Lake Park’s importance that Fowler selected this remote location.
