Dedicated To Learning

The Chautauqua movement had a mission centered on self-improvement. Among their programs were lectures and schools to learn various disciplines. Literature, art, photography, culinary arts, philosophy, biblical studies, music, romance languages, mathematics, natural sciences, physical culture, pyrography, and commercial branches were among the multitude of courses in which individuals could engage. There was even a course teaching adults to instruct a new youth program called kindergarten.
